Fire Prevention Permit Fees

The Bedford Fire Department will charge fees for permits and inspections required by Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 148 and Regulation of the Board of Fire Prevention (527 CMR).  Where the fee is more than $10.00, the amount in excess of $10.00 is for services/inspections associated with the issuance of the permit.

Fee schedule effective October 15, 2010

4. Blasting Permit $50.00

6. Copies of Reports $10.00
7. Existing Home Fire/CO Detection Inspection $50.00 (single-family)

$150.00 (<6 unit building)
$500.00 (>7 unit building)
8. Fire Alarm Master Box Connection or replacement of fire alarm cable on damaged private property (excluding normal wear & tear) Hourly Detail Rate (4 hour minimum), plus materials
9. Fireworks Display $50.00
10. Installation of Hazardous Materials/Flammable Liquid Tank, excluding consumptive use for heating purposes of 1,100 gallons of less $200.00 per tank

11. New construction – commercial/industrial fire alarm

12. New construction – commercial/industrial sprinkler $0.01/ft2 (minimum $100.00)
