Candle Safety Tips
Monday, December 13, 2004 is Candle Safety Awareness Day!
The Candle Circle of Safety has melted itself into
a large-scale public service campaign. In the year 2000, the
Massachusetts Legislature passed a bill that the Governor signed, declaring
the second Monday in December as Candle Safety Awareness Day.
Partnerships with the Office of the State Fire Marshal and leading candle
retailers have been formed in an effort to better educate consumers.
Organizations such as the National Candle Association and the National
Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) have been asked to endorse and
promote the Circle of Safety nationally.
