Bedford Firefighters Mark Casey, Matt Busa, Shaun Kennery, David Dillen, Chris Springer and Christian Dispena visited with patients at Shriners Hospital and presented them with Holiday gifts.
The members of Local 2310 The Bedford Permanent Firefighters eagerly donated the funds to purchase the gifts presented to the children. " Its a cause that really hits home for all of us."

Boston Firefighter Edward Kelly wins the 2011 Harley Davidson Street Glide Motorcycle that was raffled off to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. http://www.mdausa.org/
The Bedford Firefighters would like to Thank and Acknowledge all of the people who purchased tickets for the bike raffle. Thanks to you it was a very successful fundraiser and helped Local 2310 to raise the most money we have ever donated to the MDA. More than $10,000 dollars was raised from the raffle and donated to help with Muscular Dystrophy Research.

Firefighter Brian Oates completed an intense 160 hour training to become a Certified Hazardous Materials Technician in May 2010 and was appointed to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts District 6 Hazardous Materials Response Team that serves numerous communities including Bedford in September 2010. Firefighter Oates is the only current HazMat Technician on the Bedford Fire Department and will be an asset to our community and all the communities in District 6 where he will respond to HazMat incidents.

Bedford Firefighters Shaun Kennery, Christian Dispena and Mark Daly took part in the MS Boston Climb to the Top Challenge at the John Hancock Tower in Downtown Boston.
The three firefighters worked together to raise support for Multiple Sclerosis by asking friends and family for donations. They were successful in climbing the 61 Stories and raised more than $1500 to help with MS research.

On June 30, 2010, A Lieutenant promotion was announced by the department.
After serving as a firefighter for ten years with the Bedford Fire Department, Scott Ricker has been promoted to the rank of Fire Lieutenant and has been assigned to the Fire Prevention Division. |

Paul "Zeke" Joy, who was hired as a Firefighter in 1981, was promoted to Lieutenant in 1990 retired from the Bedford Fire Department on January 15, 2010.

On July 1, 2009, A Lieutenant promotion was announced by the department.
David Bauman has been promoted to the rank of Fire Lieutenant, and will be assigned as the Officer in Charge of Group 2. Dave was temporarily promoted to Provisional Lieutenant in October 2008, and had been working in the Fire Prevention Office and as a shift OIC since that time.
