The Bedford Fire Department is pleased to make the following personnel announcements.  Congratulations to all five men!

Two firefighters recognized for 20 years of service and three new firefighters welcomed
During the town’s annual Bedford Day celebration on September 20, 2008, the Bedford Fire Department took time out to recognize five firefighters.  Firefighters Kevin Lorrey and Charles Nickerson were each awarded a 20 year service badge and recognized for the guidance and knowledge that they have been willing to share with the younger firefighters that they work with.  Probationary Firefighters Matthew Busa, Michael Sargent, and Peter Spencer were each welcomed to the department and presented with their department badges.

Newest firefighter graduates from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy
Peter Spencer graduated from the 181st Recruit Class at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in Stow on September 26, 2008.  The 13-week program offered training in firefighting, rescue, and hazardous materials.  After a week of orientation, he has been assigned to Group 4.
