Personnel Changes - Summer 2006

The Bedford Fire Department is pleased to announce the following personnel changes.  Congratulations to all eight men!

Lieutenant says goodbye after 35 years
Lieutenant Dale Jardine worked his last shift with Group 3 on July 1, 2006 and is now enjoying retirement.

Two firefighters receive promotions
Charles Stone has been promoted to Lieutenant, and will continue working in Fire Prevention.  Mark Sullivan has been promoted to Lieutenant and took charge of Group 3 on July 1, 2006.

New firefighters graduate from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy...
Mark Pietchel and Alan Porreca graduated from the 172nd Recruit Class at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy on June 22, 2006.  Mark is now a member of Group 2, and Al has joined Group 3.

...and three new recruits are ready to start
Jim Sullivan, Joe Barrila, and Chris Springer were recently hired by the department, and are entering Class 173 at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy.  They will participate in the 11-week training program held at the academy in Stow, MA.
